National Police Week Events – Spirit of Blue has partnered with Krispy Kreme Doughnuts to honor law enforcement in the Washington, D.C. metro area May 11-13, 2014. All events feature an appearance by the Krispy Kreme Cruiser.

Sunday, May 11th

What: Law Enforcement Appreciation Event for the US Park Police
When: 1pm – 3pm

What: Law Enforcement Appreciation Event for Montgomery County Police Department
When: 4:30pm – 5:30pm

Monday, May 12th
What: Law Enforcement Appreciation Event for the Arlington County Police Department
When: 8:00am – 10am

What: Law Enforcement Appreciation Events for Law Enforcement United
When: 12:30pm – 4pm

Tuesday, May 13th
What: Law Enforcement Appreciation Event for C.O.P.S. and Survivor Families/Friends
When: 8am – 10am

THE NEED

Over 900,000 law enforcement officers honorably serve the population of the United States - that equates to 1 officer for every 350 citizens. On average, 125 officers are lost and another 15,000 are injured in the line of duty each year. Yet funding for safety equipment and training is dwindling as tax revenues decline. The need for supplemental funding to protect these officers has never been greater.
